“Meadow” and “Lake”, public art comissioned by Örebro Konsthall for preschool, 2023.
The project consists of two installations at a preschool, created to offer a cozy and quiet place for children in the ages of 1-6. Rugs are hand tufted in wool.
Public commission for pre-school “Mejeriet” located in a block of Örebro that was originally a dairy factory. With the history of the area as my starting point I wanted to create spaces for the children to be reminded of the cow’s environment – where milk is produced. Two rugs, one representing a meadow, one a lake, surrounded by curtains for moments of calm and reflection were placed in the open space room.
We are in the cow’s world. We are small insects in the grass, a frog in the water. Maybe even the cow itself? We might be sitting next to a lake, swimming in it or drinking from it. Or we could be lying on a meadow among flowers and bees, and let the sun warm our faces.

Afroart is a chain of stores for ethnic crafts and collaborates with local artisans to highlight the craftsmanship of the developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Afroart was established in Stockholm 1967 and is in 2017 celebrating 50 yearswith the campaign “50 Years of Craft” by highligthing endangered species.
